Navigating Fourth Industrial Talking Heads
Risk cannot be destroyed; merely transformed. - Hoffstein
Half-way through university, I ran out of money to go to university. So, I did what anyone in my position would do: parleyed my co-op job into a full-time job and started going to university part-time. The benefit of going to university part-time was that I got to leverage my Professors as consultants.
Anytime I’d have a challenge at work, I’d ask my Professors for the answer. Often times they didn’t know the answer, but maybe I think they didn’t know the answer because I didn’t have the ability to enact their advice!? :P
If people don’t do what you tell them, put a gun to their head. If they can do what you tell them after you threaten them, you have a motivation problem. If they can’t do what you tell them after you threaten them, you have a training problem1.
So here’s a crash course in business so you can separate language from thoughts like Wittgenstein.
Scan these and ask your heart if they are sound.
